Delicate brocade designs and Islamic inscription adorn this structure. Its pillars have clear Hindu motifs and are believed to have been taken from the 27 temples of Qila Rai Pithora, the city of the Rajput King Prithviraj Chauhan. In the inscriptions belonging to the times of Qutub-ud-Din, this mosque is mentioned by the name of Jami Masjid or Friday Mosque. Built by Qutub-ud-din Aibak, it was completed in four years.
